About Heather Heather Martin is the colorist of the Artplaymix.com illustrations. She has pursued many artistic experiences throughout her life..... An avid reader, in middle and high school Heather would often create illustrations to accompany her favorite novels. In college she experimented with 3-D media and found ceramic sculpture to be particularly enjoyable. Heather also began to create clothing and costumes. Her sewing and prop construction skills caught the eye of trade show dealers, and she often worked as a booth model for several different companies/distributers. In addition, Heather was invited to be a judge for many costume competitions throughout the U.S. She began her professional career as a colorist after she met Jason (in the summer of 2000). Together Heather and Jason worked to develop a unique artistic style. In 2001 Heather created a website to showcase their illustrative teamwork. Since the launch of this online portfolio (now known as 'Artplaymix.com') Heather and Jason have been hired to create artwork for several nationwide (and worldwide) publications. They married in May 2003 and currently maintain a small studio together. In addition to working with Jason, Heather has contributed her coloring skills to projects for Sony Computer Entertainment America, Marvel Comics, and several independant publications. She also launched a personal portfolio (known as COVETED) in January 2004 that showcases her own illustrative works.
