HIRING THE ARTIST

Regarding Professional Work
I am happy to take on professional work whenever possible. If you decide to contact me regarding your project please include the following information:
-The name of your company/corporation, and a web address if possible.
-Your position with the company/corportaion (ie. president, art director, etc.).
-A detailed work request (the more details the better)!
-Clear explination of where and how the artwork will be used.
-Your budgeted amount for the project.
Regarding Non-Professional Work
Requests for personal commissions are always considered, but unfortunately I do not always have time for non-professional work. Please look over the points and guidelines below before contacting me regarding personal commissions.
-Give a detailed description of the piece you would like to commission. Pricing is based on what you request, and will most likely be upwards of $100.
-Be prepared to pay half the total price upfront. I accept PayPal and Money Orders.
-Understand that if your commission request is accepted, it may be awhile before you recieve the actual artwork. Professional work must come first, so it is not unusual for a commission to be set aside until a professional job has been completed.
-I normally pencil and ink on 11 x 14 inch professional bristol board, and color using the computer. If you ask for colors you will recieve an 8.5 x 11 inch high quality heavyweight print in accompaniment to your inked original.
-Know that I will retain the copyrights to any artwork and original characters that I create. Basically this means that though you will own the physical piece, you may not reproduce, publish or use the commissioned artwork for any reason without my expressed written consent. Liscensing fees for non-professional work may be discussed if necessary.
The Process
This is a basic rundown detailing how I work, and the role of my client during the creative process. This scenario assumes that the client has requested a fully pencilled and inked original along with a color print.
-The first thing I will do (after I have all the pertinent information and we have agreed on a price) is draw-up a small sketch (called a thumbnail). This sketch will be very rough. It is intended to show the basic posing/positioning of the figure(s). I will email you a scan of the thumbnail sketch.
-After you have approved the thumbnail, I will begin on the pencils. You will be given the opportunity to approve the pencils before I move on to inks.
-Upon completing the ink stage, I will send you a scan of the inked original and ask about any color preferences you may have.
-When the colors are complete I will send you a small .JPG color file (as proof that the piece has been completed). I will then wait for any remaining payment to arrive before mailing-off your package.
All artwork will be mailed flat. I take great care to package all orders securely to prevent any water damage, bending or folding, and will not be responsible for damage claims as a result of shipping mishaps.
