REALMS CON REPORT-
Thanks to everyone who came to see us at Realms Con this past weekend! We met some wonderful people, and made lots of new friends at the show.
We got to know Lisa Ray (a lovely and talented singer), and spent some time chatting it up with voice actors George Manley and Tiffany Grant. James O'Barr (creator of 'The Crow') surprised us and bought both of Jason's sketchbooks! We hope to see more of him next time ^_^. Fantasy artist Alain Viesca shared some tips of the trade with us, and was great to talk with in general.
We spent some quality time with Marina Sirtis! We enjoyed her character on 'Star Trek The Next Generation', so it was a special treat to meet Marina in person. She was very kind, and even signed a photograph for us!
One of the unexpected highlights of the weekend was being invited to dinner with Margot Kidder (Lois Lane *_*), her agent, and some of their friends. We had such a good time chatting with everyone that we forgot to take some photos with Margot (d'oh!) >_<. During the conversation we learned that one of our dinner companions, Brad Taylor (who provides security for the stars), is THE MAN behind the 'Robocop' gun! Not only did he provide the actual gun for the movie, he also had a hand in the special effects *_*. Needless to say, we were extremely excited to meet him (especially Jason, who is a longtime 'Robocop' fan). Brad was very cool, and invited us to his home on Sunday evening.
Visiting Brad's house was like going to 'Planet Hollywood'! He has lots of impressive pop-culture collectibles.....and an entire room dedicated to 'Robocop' memoribilia! He even got the actual 'Robocop' gun (the one that was used in the movie) out of his bank vault so that we could see it up close! Of course we has to take some photos ^_-.
Again, many thanks to everyone who came out to see us at the show, and to all our new friends! We had a blast hanging out with everyone!
If you missed seeing our artwork on the Realms Con T-shirts and badges, be sure to check out the published venues for our Realms Con Mascot and Mascot + Logo illustrations!
